Yes, they are back! Gossip Girl has officially started filming episodes for the third season, which debuts September 14. I just can’t wait for the drama and the headbands. Oh did I mention I love Blair’s flowery dress in the pictures?
Update: I just found out the Blair’s dress is by Alice + Olivia and it’s currently on sale at Shopbop.com for $308.

This is the trailer of The September Issue, directed by RJ Cutler and covers the making of Vogue’s September 2007 issue (its biggest issue of the year). After watching the two and a half minute montage, I just can’t wait for the movie to be released on Sep 11. This is the real-life Devil Wears Prada! Anna Wintour is portrayed as fashion’s most powerful force. She is revered and feared by everyone around her, as Thakoon Panichgul proclaims “Anna is like Madonna”. Even Karl Lagerfeld looks nervous as she inspects a new Chanel piece, eventually declaring, “It’s gorgeous.” And Anna delivers the best one-liners. “This type seems so large and pretentious, it looks like it’s for blind people.” She tells Mario Testino about his September 2007 cover mockups with Sienna Miller. At a runthrough with a shrinking Oscar de la Renta, she remarks: “I personally would not put this one in the show. The other things you’ve shown us are more exciting.” Anna also scolds stylist Edward about his work for the magazine: “Where’s the glamour? It’s Vogue, okay? Please, let’s lift it.” No wonder editors have taken to bootlegging elusive screener copies of the film.

This is what Olivia worn to a lunch with Whitney (I’m not sure if this was private or they were already shooting for The City). Olivia’s outfit really surprised me, in a good way of course. She looks so casual but at the same time really elegant and fresh. The simple white blazer and leather leggings ensemble kinda gives a very different take on leggings. I personally don’t even like leggings as pants but I have to admit that she pulls it off very well. When the top half of the outfit is kept so simple, I know Olivia would spice it up with an unorthodox choice of shoes and she doesn’t disappoint. Those sliver ones are an eccentric touch. They just add to the outfit without being too distracting and for once she’s actually wearing flat shoes. I know some people may say that Olivia seems to be always trying too hard to have the perfect outfit each and every time. This is going to sound really shallow, but that’s one of the main reasons why I love her! I mean, she hardly ever puts a foot wrong in the outfit/make-up stakes and who can blame a girl for making an effort ?
Just in case if you wonder what Whitney worn… I’m not even going to comment on those pants.

French Vogue editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld and daughter Julia Restoin-Roitfeld were both seen in this balck scalloped sweater from British designer Christopher Kane F/ W 08 collection. They styled the sweater differently nevertheless both looked great. Carine paired it with a simple black skirt and went bare legged while Julia worn it with leather shorts and black tights. I can’t help but wonder when was the last time (or whenever) my mum and I shared clothes. Would you wear your mum’s clothes or lend her yours?
I came cross these Chanel bow-tie booties at Sea of Shoes.
Aren’t they just Wonderful?

I know I have an obsession with socialites’ style but, in my humble opinion, Daphne Guinness is one of the coolest and best dressed women on the planet. Daughter of the Guinness brewery heir and ex-wife of Greek shipping tycoon Spyros Niarchos, her pedigree is as haute couture as her clothing and no one wears couture like Guinness. Perhaps she is the only woman whose capacity for unfettered fantasy marches – or even exceeds – that of the designers she adores. Yet, she keeps her look surprisingly simple: she only wears black and white clothes, which match her black and blond tresses and has never been seen without her custom Christian Louboutin platform wedges. At an interview with Vogue, she remarked that she’s always preferred to inhabit clothes rather than wear them. Daphne’s rarefied sense of style has earned her reputation as the fashion person’s fashion person and a dream client for many designers.
And come September we’ll be able to own just a little piece of her when her first fragrance, named Daphne, with Comme des Garçons Parfum, is launched. The smell is inspired by her past and will cost $140. This is her second collaboration with Comme des Garçons, as she previously designed a collection of white shirts for the brand to be sold at Dover Street Market. When the likes of Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian have their own fragrances, it’s so refreshing to see a true style icon, with a very signature presence, creating her own scent.
