As promised, I managed to find some pictures from Bryce’s SS 10 show. Great collection and amazing pictures. Enjoy!

The first show I went to was Bryce d’Anice Aime at VFS. The collection was seductive and had a cool chic. The fitted jackets, short skirts and transparent tops brought out the feminine silhouette (even on the skinny models!) and layers added to the sex appeal. Headscarfs, feathers and “difus” (Bryce d’Anice Aime’s interesting take on cuffs for the legs and arms) gave the garments an edge without being too over-the-top… there was shimmer and sheen, prominent zippers and sculptural lines. I definitely felt an air of Mugler: sharp cuts and strong colours. I also love the contrast of fabrics, such as shiny leather and soft chiffon. The whole show was powerful, refined and fuelled by fast upbeat music.
I think classic, elegant and uncluttered lines in fashion will be a trend in the seasons to come (in contrast to a more flowery girly style such as Luella). Architectural and pure shapes and simple chic will be a welcome style. And Spring/ Summer 2009 collections have already picked up on that. -AH
